AMANDA LEPORE: TRANS CELEBRITY VISITS CHILE

The renowned American model and artist, collaborator of the prominent photographer David LaChapelle and star of the New York underground, returns to our country as a special guest of the anniversary event of Lemonlab, the queer event producer with eleven years of experience in the local circuit.



Next Friday, August 2, the Lemonlab anniversary party will be held at the Freedom space, which will feature the presence of the American Amanda Lepore as a special guest at the celebration of the eleven years of the local LGBT+ event producer in Santiago.


Recognized for cultivating an image and aesthetic inspired by Marilyn Monroe and the fictional character Jessica Rabbit, Amanda Lepore is a trans celebrity belonging to the New York scene, who since the 90s has been part of the city's nightlife sharing with supermodels of the time such as Naomi Campbell and Pamela Anderson.


Portrayed by her best friend David LaChapelle, Amanda Lepore has become a piece of art and fetish in itself. His photographs have been exhibited in various cities around the world and portray stories about luxury, criticism of the sacred, sex and plastic surgeries.


Lepore has participated in music videos by artists such as Elton John, Kim Petras, Erasure, The Drums, Marina and The Diamonds, Pussy Riots, The Dandy Warhols, among others. And he has also been the face of advertising campaigns for brands such as Armani, Versace, MAC, Mego, Swatch, to name a few. Her most recent participation in the Balenciaga fashion show demonstrates the validity of this extravagant model.


The artist will share with the public some of her musical singles such as “Deeper”, a trance-dance song written by Lady Bunny, a drag queen and Wigstock presenter. His renowned “Champagne” and “My hair looks fierce”. He has also collaborated with rapper Cazwell and drag queen winner of the 4th season of RuPaul's Drag Race, Sharon Needles, on their song “I wish I were Amanda Lepore.”
