Asian Excellence: Renowned drag queens Plastique Tiara and Marina Summers perform in Santiago.

Of Vietnamese and Filipino origin respectively, Plastique Tiara and Marina Summers, participants in the latest editions of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars (2024) and UK vs. The World (2024), will present an unmissable show in Santiago, bringing together all the drag art infused with Asian influences that highlight their culture and pop.

On Friday, November 8, Spot Freedom will host the last drag queen show of the year in Chile, featuring renowned stars from the RuPaul’s Drag Race franchise, thanks to LEMONLAB. The event will showcase two major talents from the 2024 seasons of the show: Vietnamese drag queen Plastique Tiara and Filipino drag queen Marina Summers. Both artists blend elements of their cultural heritage with cutting-edge aesthetics, captivating their thousands of fans worldwide.

Plastique Tiara, recognized as the most-followed drag artist on TikTok with around 11.5 million followers, has been dubbed the queen of social media and has gone viral countless times for her looks inspired by her Vietnamese roots and pop stars from her homeland. She participated in Season 11 of RuPaul’s Drag Race (2019) and returned to All Stars in 2024 with a more mature narrative, showcasing a balance of tradition and modernity that was evident each week on the show.

Meanwhile, Marina Summers shone with her charisma in the first season of Drag Race Philippines (2022), where she was a finalist, and later in Drag Race: UK vs. The World (2024). The young Filipino artist dazzled in both seasons with her stunning performances and striking outfits on the runway, serving as a symbol of her cultural identity. Her rising music career, with several singles released, led her to be part of GLOW, a Spotify program for LGBTQIA+ creators in 2023.

Joining these international drag ambassadors will be prominent local queens: Anna Balmánica, Morganne LaMorte, Skyla, Miss Za’haraa, and Diosa Drag Love, in a diverse show celebrating queer culture.

LEMONLAB concludes its 2024 season of RuPaul’s Drag Race queens, a year marked by the visits of important international artists such as Aquaria, Nymphia Wind, Monét X Change, Valentina, Alaska, Detox, Brooke Lynn Hytes, Plane Jane, and Sasha Colby.
